3 grandparents

In one month my siblings and I lost three grandparents.
First came my dad's mom.
She had Alzheimer and went quickly.
One day she couldn't stand up right..the next only sat.. then slowly couldn't eat anymore.
Everyone but Rusty went up to Utah for it.
Rusty had to stay and work and also be with our dog.

It started a snow storm right when the funeral ended.

We drove by the houses we used to live in here in Utah.

We missed Trisha in this picture but my dad and his siblings.

I got to see Jen while i was up there and it'd been years! It was so good seeing her and it's like nothing ever changes with us! We have this parallel life i swear and its pretty neat!

Then we lost my great grandpa on my mom's side a few weeks later. I guess he died the same day as Jerry did. (my mom's older brother that past away as an infant)
I just have to say my great grandpa was amazing! He had a memory that just blew you away!
He's first memory was when he was two and from then on he could tell you everyone's names (first and last) and where they came from. He had a funny sense of humor and was always amazed at the new technology that was coming out. An ipod just blew his mind that music could come out of that small of a device. He was an amazing husband to my great grandma and even though he would get mad he was always there for her when she couldn't remember something or where something was. One of my funniest memories was that a couple summers ago we went to fish lake cuz my mom couldn't believe we didn't have any memory of it and it could've been the last time my great grandparents were going to be there. (they went every summer)
So we were setting things up and trying to pump this mattress up and my great grandma wanted to do it so i let her. But let me tell you she moved like a snail going up and down up and down.
My great grandpa got up and hiked up his "britches" and said " move over you old lady" and did it him self.
He was so stubborn he always felt capable to drive even though he was 97 or climb into a boat by himself. He loved the outdoors weather it was fishing, just sitting in the shade watching cars go by, riding his bike,  or going for a walk.
One afternoon I was sitting on his porch in Yuma with him while everyone was out and he was telling me how mad he was that the place cut back his shade tree too much and that he wouldn't be around the next time it grew back. I was probably 14 at the time and not too much after he said he was gunna go inside and take a nap. So i sat there reading a book and every 2 min i looked over to make sure he was still breathing! But i learned he said stuff like that all the time or he'd say "well if I knew i was gunna live this long i would have taken better care of myself." Well Grandpa you lived to be 97 I think you did something right!

yes we got him to try to long board!

These were taken just a few weeks before he passed.

The day he died i guess he wasn't feeling too well but said he didn't want to go to the hospital. Well later that day they sent him in a helicopter and he had a heart attack..then his lungs filled up with fluid..then his kidneys started failing.
Pics from the funeral.
This was hard because he was the closest family member we've had go.

Then my "step" grandpa on my dad's side passed away. We knew he wasn't going to last long after my grandma died. So i just have my mom's parents and m great grandma left.
Being around my great grandma after the funeral was really sad. She misses him a lot and is reminded all the time how great he was to her. (72 years together) He turned on the tv for her and told her over and over again where she was and who they live with. Her memory has gotten really bad the last little while that she asks over and over who you are and who you belong to. But then a min later she can pick you out in a picture. But i don't see her going any time soon. I've been blessed with such great grandparents! As Kortnee says " I don't want to get older"..
